About this deal

The collapsible seat belt guides do a good job of holding the seat belt in place, but it’s difficult to remove the seat belt when you’re ready to get out of the car.

The mifold is a group 2/3 seat so can be used for children from age 4 (or over 15kg) until 12 years old (or over 135cm). See our other FAQs for specific details of the territories where mifold is compliant with local booster seat safety regulations. The mifold shoulder belt positioning strap and clip is attached to the back of the mifold seat and goes behind the child’s back.

To her, this small fold-out seat was far too lightweight in comparison to the bulky safety of our two existing large children’s seat with their padded headrests and interwoven seatbelts. Parents know that car seats and many booster seats can be cumbersome, hard to fit in or out of a car.

Our reviews and articles are written by parents who are professional journalists, and we also include feedback from our parent community and industry experts. The slot needs to be moved away from the seat a little, which probably will happen with an older child as you need to do that for width but if you have it on the "skinniest" setting, then move the width adjuster out a little to slip the seat belt through. When folded it’s only slightly bigger than a Nintendo Switch, barely weighs more than a bottle of water and is easy to pop in your luggage or even hand bag when out and about on your holiday.mifold encourages caregivers to use the most protective car seat available that is suitable to the child, the circumstances and the vehicle being used. I find the adjusting of the seat a bit counter-intuitive, so it did take me quite a few attempts to adjust it properly between children.

The Hifold feels much flimsier and less soft than a non-travel high-back booster, but my daughter didn’t complain about the comfort at all.The thing that we liked best about the Mifold car seat is that there really is no reason not to always have it in your car. However, evidence shows high-backed Group 2/3 (booster) car seats offer a higher level of protection compared to backless boosters (booster cushions), so we recommend you use a high-backed booster seat for as long as you can. We are a family of four from the UK who thrive on off-the-beaten-track adventures and like to maintain a balance of long-term slow travel with school. My 5 yr old says that it is not comfortable and would rather use his old seat for now my 8 yr old likes it.
